Colla fine del corr/ = si chiude l’esercizio sociale 1890-91. E’ quindi assolutamente necessario che le partite tuttora in sofferenza dei lavori c/. terzi sieno regolate. La più importante è quella che riguarda la Ditta Erba, in sospeso da più mesi, con evidente perdita della ns. Amministrazione pel non effettuato incasso di somme non indifferenti, per le quali si è perduto l’interesse di parecchi mesi. E’ dunque urgente definire la tariffa e fissarla, ed invitiamo cod.^a on.^e Direzione a provvedervi subito. Uguale raccomandazione facciamo per tutti gli altri stampati, onde sollecitamente si inviano i conti e si procuri il saldo verso la fine del corrente.

Con sorpresa poi, ad una sollecitazione del 94357 vediamo l’acclusa risposta!!.... ed è davvero singolare che in causa di un frontespizio, un pezzo debba aspettare 8, o 9 mesi!! - Non solo si mette così in condizione imbarazzante una Casa filiale, ma si disgustano i compositori esteri, i quali protestano, e non vogliono più affidare i loro lavori alla ns. Casa. Perciò, si provveda in qualunque modo al frontespizio, senza tentare esperimenti che richiedono quasi un anno: questi si facciano, al caso, in corpore vili, cioè con un disegno qualsiasi, pel quale l’indugio non sarà dannoso.

Non dubitando della vs. solerzia, ci pregiamo salutarvi distint.

With the end of this month, our 1890-91 fiscal year comes to a close. It is therefore absolutely necessary that all outstanding charges to outside clients be resolved. The most important of them regards the Ditta Erba, which has been suspended for several months, resulting in a notable loss our Administration has had to bear due to the uncollected payment of substantial sums, for which quite a few months of interest have been lost. It is therefore urgent to determine the charge and set it down, and we invite this hon. Office of the Director to see to it right away. We recommend the same be done for all other printing jobs, so that the bills can be sent prompty and the balance of payments collected by the end of the month.

Also, we were surprised to see the enclosed response to a request regarding 94357!!.... and we find it inexplicable that because of a title page a piece must wait 8 or 9 months!! – Not only does this place one of our company affiliates in an embarrassing position, but it puts off foreign composers, who protest and no longer want to entrust their works to our Company. Therefore, please see to it by any means that the title page is done, without attempting experiments that require nearly a year: if necessary, it can be done in corpore vili, that is to say with any illustration, in order to avoid a damaging delay.
