CLET000511
Milan, 16 March 1891
Illustrious Maestro,
In response to your esteemed letters of the 14th and 15th of this month, what you wrote to Roger is just fine. I will consign your letter tomorrow to Avv. Panattoni. With regard to what to do in the future, it is something that should be decided at a more appropriate moment; we will then also need to see Pouillet’s report.
I am truly happy to hear the good news about Sig.ra Peppina. Yesterday my wife was delighted to receive a kind letter which Sig.ra Peppina herself sent to her. We wish her the best of health always, quod est in votis [thus do we hope] in the most heartfelt manner possible.
Since in fact the matter of Otello in Nice is not urgent, I will wait to hear your orders when I have the good fortune to see you. Again and always, with all of my thanks,
Yours most devotedly,
Giulio Ricordi
