In response to your esteemed letter from the 28th of this past month, I have taken what you have written into consideration and will decide later regarding the traveling sales representative.

With regard to the new Mediterranean publicity poster, I understand perfectly the exceptional nature of this case, and therefore the necessity that things be finalized right away; but I would have preferred to see in writing the definitive conditions, the method of execution, and the total cost, in order to approve it as General manager.

Going by what I have been told, I have some reservations regarding the consignment deadline, and I am unaware what guarantees this Office of the Direction has had from the artist assigned to this project concerning precisely when the various chromolithographic designs will be consigned.

This Office of the Direction should never forget that, in the final analysis, there is one person alone who serves as guarantor and ultimately assumes all responsibilities, and this person is the General Manager; therefore it is necessary to keep him regularly informed of everything for which he is responsible.

If, in the particular instance of this Poster, the Office of the Direction believed it was in the Company’s interest to finalize an agreement right away because otherwise it would not have been possible [to secure the contract], this is an exceptional case – but even so I should have been regularly informed of both the conclusion itself and the terms involved.

In the hope that the results of the current administrative studies can be regularly applied during the coming fiscal year, I have nothing further to add for today, and it is my pleasure to extend my best regards.
