Riscontro la gradita sua in data di ieri.
Ho inteso perfettamente quello che Ella mi disse il giorno dell’Assemblea generale della First; ma non sembrandomi quella la sede più opportuna per discutere la di lei proposta, risposi che mi sembrava conveniente rimettere questo a più tardi: ecco tutto.
Ora ella non trova conveniente che ci incontriamo per proseguire quel discorso: aspettiamo dunque.

I received your welcome letter dated yesterday.
I understood perfectly what you told me the day of the General assembly of the First [bank?]; but since it did not seem to me to be the most opportune moment to discuss your proposal, I responded that I thought it more convenient to take it up later: that's the whole of it.
Now you do not find it convenient for us to meet and resume that discussion: so we shall wait.
