Many thanks for your letter of December 10th.

I am no soccer fan and the last match I saw is the one you mentioned, in 1934, that is fifteen years ago! But I was of course interested, like everybody else, to the last match played by the Italians in London, and was very pleased to learn that they have made a good show. So I am thankful to you for your thought of sending me the cuttings from the press.

I was very sorry to have missed you the last time I was in London, but as I am due to come back there fairly often, I am sure we shall meet on some other occasion.
