Rispondo alla di lei lettera del 24. Prima di tutto non vi è nessuna premura nel decidere come e qualmente ella abbia ad essere cointeressato nella nostra Ditta, perché per questo Esercizio rimane quanto aveva fatto a di lei favore
Avrò quindi tutto il tempo per studiare la questione non facile ad essere risolta perché – secondo la di lei proposta – si incappa nelle disposizioni del nostro patto sociale. Per questa sola ragione io le avevo offerto l’interessenza sui noli, pur riconoscendo che sarebbe più giusta ed equa l’interessenza sugli utili.
In ogni modo stia sicuro che, in un modo o nell’altro, la di lei posizione futura sarà più vantaggiosa della passata.
Goda in pace questi ultimi giorni di vacanza e mi creda sempre

Dear Signor Colombo,
In response to your letter of the 24th: First of all, there is no urgent need to decide how and in what manner you will collaborate in the future with our Company, because for this Financial period what my poor father had done for you remains in effect — and from the first of this upcoming July I will arrange that you continue to receive the same amounts as in the past.
This means I will have all the time that is necessary to study how best to address this issue, which is not easy to resolve because — according to your proposal — it would be in conflict with company policy. For this reason alone I had offered you a percentage on rentals, recognizing nonetheless that a share of profits would be more just and equitable.
In any case rest assured that, one way or another, your future position will be more advantageous than it was in the past.
