Può ben immaginarsi come mi dispiaccia il vero sopruso fiscale da cui è colpito - ma Lei, che è così fine e sagace, come può e poteva credere ch’io mi credessi autorizzato ad accollare all’Amm.e questo aumento di Ricchezza Mobile, che esce dall’orbita dell’accordo coll’Agente delle tasse, e che fu diretto alla persona extra Ufficio, e non all’Impiegato?...Le ripeto che me ne spiace, perché è una vera infamia, e se vi fosse appena un po’ di giustizia, Ella dovrebbe venire sollevato da questo peso sproporzionato alle di Lei risorse - ! -
Quanto all’anticiparle la somma occorrente, ciò posso farlo, e vi calcoli pure - ma, ripeto, auguro che questo tasto stonato e doloroso non suoni più.

You can well imagine how sorry I am that you are the victim of such brazen fiscal abuse – but how could you, who are so thoughtful and intelligent, ever believe that I would have considered myself authorized to have the Administration assume this increase of Taxable Income, which goes well beyond the agreement made with the Tax Agent and which was directed to you as a private individual and not an employee?... I repeat, I am sorry because it is an absolute abomination, and if there were any justice at all you should be relieved of this weight which is so disproportionate to your resources!-
As far as anticipating the sum you need is concerned, that I can do, and you may count on it – but, I repeat, I hope that you never attempt this kind of irregular and painful request again.
