   Thanks for the photos, and for the copy of Le Figaro with the note on the French Hospital.

   I looked for some information on the consumption of coffee in Europe — here is what I found:

France =        110 million kilos

Belgium =        40        "        "

Holland =        39        "        "

Italy =                28        "        "   (!!)

England =        14        "        "

Russia =        12        "        "   (!!)

Switzerland =        11        "        "

   England aside, where the enormous consumption of tea logically far exceeds that of coffee, it seems to me that in Europe there are two countries in which the margin of growth is still very great: Italy and Russia. Perhaps this is nothing new to Haifa — but in any case, I've sent you these numbers because they seemed interesting.

   I await your news for the American affair, because Belloni asks me ever more insistently about it.

Caro Amico,

        Grazie per le foto e per il Figaro con la nota sull'Ospedale francese.

Ho cercato qualche informazione sul consumo di caffè in Europa – ecco quanto ho appreso:

Francia =        110 milioni di chili

Belgio =        40    “                “

Olande =        39    “                “

Italia =        28    “                “   (!!)

Inghilterra = 14    “                “

Russia =        12    “                “   (!!)

Svizzera =        11    “                    “        

A parte l’Inghilterra, dove l'enorme consumo di tè giustifica lo scarso consumo di caffè, mi sembra che in Europa ci siano due paesi nei quali il margine di crescita è ancora molto grande: l'Italia e la Russia. Forse non insegno niente di nuovo a Caifa – in ogni modo le mando queste cifre perché mi sono sembrate interessanti.

Aspetto sue notizie per l'affare americano, perché Belloni mi sollecita sempre più spesso.
