Dear Mr. Caesari,
We apologize for not having answered your letter of July 30 th before, as our Dr. Clausetti was out town.
In the meantime we have received the proofs of your “Vocalizzi” and we have already corrected them. We have not thought it necessary, however, to change the word “toni” into “tonalità”, as the two words have exactly the same meaning in the Italian language.
We are sure you agree to this and we trust you will be quite satisfied with this new edition of your work.

Ci scusiamo per non aver risposto prima alla sua lettera del 30 luglio in quanto il nostro Dr. Clausetti si trovava fuori città.
Nel frattempo abbiamo ricevuto le bozze dei suoi “Vocalizzi” e abbiamo provveduto a correggerle. Non abbiamo tuttavia ritenuto necessario cambiare la parola “toni” con “tonalità”, in quanto le due parole nella lingua italiana hanno il medesimo significato.
Siamo certi che lei sia d’accordo e che rimarrà abbastanza soddisfatto di questa nuova edizione del suo lavoro.
