Quando Sonzogno diede costi il il Lohengrin , i giornali dissero corna del M.°Mugnone . Mi preme assai avere quelli articoli. Sarà forse difficile procurarsi i numeri: più facile trovare in qualche biblioteca la raccolta, e copiare, solamente le poche righe di critica che riguardano concerto e direzione - accompagnate dal titolo del giornale e data. Del resto bastano i 3, o 4 fogli più importanti, o quelli che in ispecie più biasimarono l’esecuzione. Mi preme moltissimo, e la prego occuparsene subito.

Intanto faccio cordiali auguri a Lei e Sua famiglia per le prossime feste, e con stima mi ripeto

When Sonzogno staged Lohengrin there , the papers absolutely savaged M. Mugnone . I am very anxious to have those articles. Since it might be difficult to procure the issues themselves, perhaps it will be easier to find the collection in some library and copy only the few lines of criticism concerning the ensemble work and the conducting, accompanied by the title of the paper and the date. All I really need are 3 or 4 of the more important publications, or those that especially disparage the performance. The matter is extremely important, and I urge you to take care of it right away.
