Sempre io fui e sono disposto ad accogliere le istanze degli addetti alla nostra Ditta, appena lo sia possibile. Perciò assai mi dispiace la domanda da Lei fattami con sua 7 corr/. perché appunto mi procura il dispiacere di non poterla accogliere. Infatti, come mai può Ella credere possibile un qualsiasi aumento di spese vive nella di Lei sezione, quando già questa risulta di una enorme passività?... Ma se io proponessi cosa simile al mio Consiglio di Amministrazione, farei una ben infelice figura.
Ogni cosa a suo tempo!! Auguro che questo non sia troppo lontano anche per Loro.

I have always been and continue to remain willing to consider the requests presented by the employees of our Company, as far as this is possible for me. Therefore I am extremely sorry to receive the request you made in your letter of the 7th of this month, precisely because it displeases me not to be able to accept it. In fact, how could you ever believe any increase of compensation for out-of-pocket expenses is possible in your department when you are already operating with an enormous deficit?... But if I were to propose such a thing to my Administrative Board I would seem quite the fool.
Everything in its own good time!! My hope is that this will not be long in coming to all of you.
