Caro Sannazzaro,
Approfitto dell’amico Caracciolo per rispondere alla gradita sua del 10 c/.
Speravo poterle fare avere il film che aveva servito alla rappresentazione di Parigi, ma invece ciò non è possibile perchè il mio rappresentante di colà l’aveva spedito a Londra dandomene avviso in ritardo. Ora si stanno approntando altre copie e appena ne avrò disponibile una ce la spedirò.
L’intero film si compone di circa 1700m, di cui circa 900m compongono le prime due parti – ma io credo che il film si potrà rappresentare per intiero anche in Ispagna purché si levino i prigionieri e i feriti austriaci.
Sta bene per quanto reflette la traduzione dei titoli in spagnolo da farsi da loro.
Mi spiace di doverle dire che l’offerta fatta dalla Ditta P&R non è neanche da pigliarsi in considerazione – tale prezzo si dà qui per le film le più comuni e di nessun pregio.
Sarò oltremodo lieto se, sotto la di lei egida, si potrà organizzare la rappresentazione a inviti e se si otterrà il nulla-osta della censura spagnola: dopo questo sono certo che non mancheranno acquirenti seri.

Dear Sannazzaro,
I am prevailing upon the kindness our friend Caracciolo in responding to your letter of the 10th of this month.
I had hoped to provide you with the film that was used for the showing in Paris, but it did not prove possible because my representative there had meanwhile sent it to London and only informed me later. Other copies are being prepared now, and as soon as I have one available I will send it to you.
The entire film is around 1700 meters in length, the first two parts of which are around 900 meters — but I think all of the film could be shown even in Spain if the presence of Austrian prisoners and wounded were to be eliminated.
It is fine that they undertake the translation of the titles into Spanish.
I am sorry to have to inform you that the offer from the P&R Company is not at all worthy of consideration — only ordinary, unimportant films can be had here at that price.
I would be exceedingly happy if, under your auspices, it were possible to organize a showing by invitation and obtain authorization for distribution from the Spanish censors; after which I am certain there will be no lack of serious purchasers.
